PDFMergeX Privacy Policy
Last updated: October 26, 2026
1. Scope and publisher
This policy explains how PDFMergeX, a Windows application published by Bartlomiej Budzynski as an individual developer under the display name B2BB, handles information when you merge PDF files using its Windows File Explorer context-menu command or command-line interface.
Publisher: Bartlomiej Budzynski (individual developer)
Privacy contact: bartlomiej.budzynski@gmail.com
2. PDF files and local processing
PDFMergeX reads the PDF files you select, including their contents and document metadata, and creates a merged PDF on your computer. These files may contain personal or sensitive information. The application processes them to perform the merge you request.
By default, the merged file is saved beside the first input file. A different output location can be specified through the command-line interface. The application does not intentionally modify the original input files. It writes the merged data to a temporary file beside the intended output before publishing the completed PDF. Interrupted processing may leave a temporary file in that folder.
PDFMergeX does not upload your PDFs, their contents, metadata, or file paths to the publisher or to an external processing service. It does not require an internet connection to merge files.
3. Local diagnostic log
PDFMergeX automatically writes a diagnostic log on your device. The log records timestamps, startup events, the full output path after a successful merge, and error messages. Error messages can include input or output file paths and document-related details. These details may reveal personal information, such as your Windows account name or document titles.
The usual location is %LOCALAPPDATA%\PDFMerge\pdfmerge.log. Windows package redirection may affect the physical location of this file.
The log is not automatically transmitted to the publisher. The application does not intentionally write complete PDF documents to the log. There is no automatic log expiration or rotation and no in-app setting to turn logging off. You can delete the log, but later use of the application may recreate it.
4. Windows language and other data
PDFMergeX reads your Windows display-language setting to choose Polish or English interface text. This setting is used locally and is not transmitted to the publisher.
The application does not require an account and contains no advertising, analytics, tracking, or automatic crash-report upload functionality. It does not access your location, contacts, camera, or microphone.
5. Sharing and external services
The application does not automatically disclose your documents or diagnostic logs to third parties, and the publisher does not receive them through normal use of PDFMergeX.
If you choose files in a network location or a folder synchronized by a service such as OneDrive, that service may transfer or store the files independently of PDFMergeX. Its own privacy policy applies.
Microsoft may process information in connection with the Microsoft Store, installation, updates, Windows diagnostics, or other Windows services, according to your settings and the Microsoft Privacy Statement (https://privacy.microsoft.com/en-us/privacystatement). Those activities are separate from PDFMergeX’s local file processing.
The application’s information dialogs include an optional link to https://buycoffee.to/b2bb. If you choose to open it, your browser connects to that third-party website and its own privacy practices apply. Opening this link is not required to merge PDFs.
6. Storage, security, and your controls
Your source PDFs, merged PDFs, and diagnostic log are stored on your device or in the storage locations you use. Access is governed by Windows permissions and the security of those locations. PDFMergeX does not add its own encryption to the output PDF or diagnostic log; do not assume that encryption of an input PDF will be preserved in the merged output.
You control which documents are selected and where the output is stored. You can access, copy, or delete your files using Windows tools, delete the diagnostic log, stop using the application, or uninstall it. Do not assume that uninstalling PDFMergeX deletes merged PDFs or all diagnostic data; review and delete any remaining files yourself.
The publisher cannot access or delete files that remain solely on your device. Review any diagnostic log before sharing it and remove information you do not want to disclose. Do not send documents or sensitive information unless they are needed to resolve your request.
7. Information you send to us
If you contact the publisher, you may voluntarily provide your email address, message, and attachments. That information is used to respond to your inquiry, provide the support you request, and meet applicable legal obligations. It is retained only as long as needed for those purposes. Depending on applicable law, you may request access, correction, or deletion of information you have provided by using the privacy contact above.
The website support form sends your email address, selected topic, message, and any app or Windows version you enter through a Cloudflare Worker and Cloudflare email delivery to the developer’s Gmail inbox at siknitrus@gmail.com. The form does not accept file attachments. Cloudflare and the email provider process the submitted information to deliver and handle the request. The Worker also uses the connection IP address to limit repeated submissions; the application’s local PDF merging is separate from this website service.
8. Changes and contact
This policy will be updated if the application’s data practices change. The date at the top identifies the latest revision. For questions about this policy or information you have sent to the publisher, contact the privacy email listed above.
